KitchenCurtains2 150x150 Kitchen Curtains: Light Up Any KitchenThere are a few things about kitchen curtains that make them unique and different than other types of curtains in your home.  For one thing, the materials that you find curtains for your kitchen curtains may be made of material more suitable to that environment.

Similar to how you might find a different type of paint for use in a kitchen.  Because of the grease and other agents that exist in the kitchen, the materials that make up a quality curtain will be more resistant to these environmental factors.

Then again, there are simple cotton kitchen curtains that are made of the same material that you might find in the curtains for your bedroom.  One common style is the gingham curtain.  This refers to that popular checkerboard style that is often red and white. They do come in other colors as well, this red and white is just more of a classic for this particular style.

Just like in the other rooms of your home, the curtains for your kitchen space should be a reflection of the style and theme that you are trying to achieve.  While you can certainly get a little more whimsical with kitchen curtains, matching them to the rest of your décor will bring the whole kitchen space together, rather than making them the focal point.  They can be hung on curtain rods just like the other ones you own.

You may find that kitchen curtains are a bit shorter than the 84” ones you have in the living room.  Well, for obvious reasons, the windows in this area of your home are smaller and higher off the ground.  Occasionally, more common in modern home designs, there will be floor to ceiling windows just off the kitchen space.  This makes for a great view of a garden or patio and can then be treated like any other window in your home as far as window treatments go.

Home bedroom decor has many other great kitchen decorating ideas.
